Back in High River

Yesterday was our first full day back in High River after our trip to Vancouver Island. I opened the studio and found a whole bunch of gallery canvas prints had arrived while we had been away. Big thanks to our neighbours, Mac and Lynn, for popping them into the studio for us. One of the side benefits of having some security cameras on site is that we can monitor things from afar. As I was expecting deliveries, I checked in from time to time to make sure that the boxes didn't stay outside in the weather too long. One text to Mac and Lynn and they were kind enough to pop over and put them away. Having great neighbours is a blessing!

I spent most of the day doing custom embellishments and packaging of gallery canvas prints in floating frames that needed to go to clients in several provinces. By evening's end I had completed everything that needed to be done.

When we were at TGO Quatsino Lodge, we marvelled at the work ethic of Brad, our host. I realized, as I hustled through the studio from early in the morning to late in the day, I have a very similar way of operating. I LOVE having things to do. It's better for my physical and mental health when I have a series of tasks to do. I can't imagine living a truly retired life with nothing that needs doing. It would not be good for me at all.
