Ideal Mindset
This is my third or fourth trip through the Ideal Protein weight loss process. Sadly, each of the three previous journeys did not build in permanent habits that enabled me to maintain a healthy weight. I've often said that the "losing the weight" phase is the easiest. The two phases that follow are much harder, and in a sense, more important as they will help maintain through the years.
1) Mindset - you have to be ready to jump into this program. Your thoughts have to be focused, your determination peaked and your commitment one hundred percent.
2) Daily Habits - each day, before I do anything else, I take some notes in my journal about the day before and then step on the scale to officially start another day. This pattern drives me to get up in the morning and recommit to another perfect IP day.
3) You need the tools - in this case, the "tools" for success are food products. We need to have the right selection of fresh produce and whole proteins in the fridge or freezer. We also have an Ideal Protein recipe book that comes in handy when I run out of ideas.
On day one I didn't have to fight hunger pangs at all. It was easy to drink lots of water and stick to the protocol. The only downside is that it felt like I was up to pee multiple times throughout the night. However, that could be an old guy thing. LOL.
