Blizzard

As the day progressed, so did the wind and the snow. Wow! Not only did this system close the airport, it caused a massive pile up of vehicles on the QEII. I'm glad we were nestled in our humble studio and not on the roads.

The effort of digging out the drifts that had formed on our driveway and sidewalks caused me to feel rather depleted. I found myself reaching for a few extra snacks throughout the day and evening. The end result was a slight bump up in weight today. Oh well, setbacks are equally as important as successes. There are always days and stretches during the Ideal Protein program when things stall out or go backward. The key is to look forward.

We only had two kids for our Kidz ART Zone yesterday. The others were either on their Christmas holiday or unable to travel owing to the storm. While Acadia and Scarlett quietly worked on their projects, I grabbed an unfinished raven painting that has been hanging around since the fall and painted this one.

I love how it appears to be looking ahead and beyond, something that many of us do at this time of year. The Christmas season and the approach to a new year inspires us to contemplate new beginnings, fresh possibilities and positive changes. I've been doing that both consciously and subconsciously. So I called this guy "Forward Focused Raven". I think it's an appropriate and timely title.

I'll also share that I did something that I rarely do yesterday. Something had been bugging me about the recent painting I did of Marshall Mathers. I had a sense that the day would come when I would jump in and make a few adjustment. Yesterday was the day. I did some micro changes, felt instant relief, rephotographed the piece and hung it back on the wall.

Day 5 - 192.2 lbs
