Painting live, with a twist

I have done live paintings in a variety of situations: a beach-themed fundraiser, a mega Halloween dance, and an urban market, just to name a few.  Sometimes the lighting has been a challenge, other times the noise.  Smoke became an issue the time I painted outdoors and changes in humidity always make the experience of painting live a little unpredictable.

Tonight I will be doing something that I have never done before.  I'll be doing a live painting on stage while emceeing a concert.  Let me just say, for the record, that it wasn't my idea.  Beverley Fawcett, the organizer of The Reason Christmas Concert, asked if it was something I would consider.

I've always been a fan of doing two things at once, and I like the idea of trying something new.  After I wrapped my brain around a potential subject that would fit the theme of the night, I told Bev I would give it a try.

My subject will be Mother Mary with baby Jesus.  I'll be doing a 24" x 24" portrait that will be auctioned off at the end of the night to support four different charities.

I just got the line-up for tonight's event and it is stellar.  If you want to get into the holiday spirit and be surrounded by generous energy and festive fun, this is it!  Tickets for The Reason are on sale at Keyano Theatre Box Office, or by clicking here.
