Alone on the hill
I may have to dig deep in the archives to find the photos to support this revelation, but I have always been drawn to single trees standing sentinel on tops of hills and mountains. Several pop to mind immediately.

The first was on the ridge of the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
The second was on top of a hill in a gravel pit near Lake Manitou in Saskatchewan.
The most recent is very near the off leash dog park here in Okotoks.
There is nothing complicated about this composition. It is a simple scene that, to me, speaks of courage, fortitude and a willingness to go it alone.
This is “Alone on a hill”. It is available for purchase in this week’s online auction that you can find here: https://www.32auctions.com/birdsongfebruary
