Aladdin Jr. to open

They began looking at the script and the songs just a few short weeks ago, but the cast and crew of Aladdin Jr. have done a remarkable job pulling it together for an audience.  They open this afternoon at 2 pm.  Tickets are available at Keyano Box Office, or online by clicking here. All seats are $15, which makes it an afforable family outing to escape the heat and bask in the music and fun.

This is the real deal for these students.  They will move into a daily warm-up at 8:30 am, into costumes, microphones and scene work starting at 8:45 am, then they run the show one final time before playing to a crowd.  They are going through an experience - albeit a little truncated - very similar to what we went through with Les Mis, Hometown...The Musical! or any of the other blockbuster musicals Keyano Theatre Company has put on over the years.  These kids are being treated like the professionals they are.

As parents, we can't thank Keyano Theatre and Suncor Energy enough for making this happen.  Ben has had a wonderful time, and came home each day energized and enthused.  This has been, by a country mile, the best summer "camp" (excuse the term) experience he has ever had.

Thanks to Roxanne, Dianne, Leticia, Zachary, Steph, and all the theatre staff who have been such outstanding leaders on the project.  You have collectively given these students a gift that they will treasure forever.

Now it's time for an audience.  Shows are at 2 pm today, tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.  With a great set, lights, costumes, singing and story, this is a PERFECT afternoon musical treat.

Here are a few photographic highlights from yesterday's media call to whet your appetite.
